This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
But, how?
By moving, adding and personalizing modules.
You can drag and and drop to rearrange.
You can edit modules to customize them.
The left side has modules you can add!
Some modules you can only access when you get a subscription.
Some modules have options that are only available when you get a subscription.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain modules can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!
Any ideas on how to post a photo essay on da other than creating a page and linking to it. I'd like to not post 9 separate photos and also to not post an unmanageably large single piece and I have no idea how to create a flash gallery that doesn't require it's own html and site storage which wouldnt work on da.
" photo for hire. taking portraits and other paid gigs.
In midwest america at least people have horrible taste and will pay 500 usd for a few poses, couple locations and some shitty passé photoshop tricks "omg part of this photo is in colour and another part isn't! how amazing and arty! "
ha ... then what would they think about this kind -> [link]
they would probably find it unconventional and not like it lol. but of course I am generalizing I mean I'm from that town in Missouri I speak of and I'm not into that horrible style of soft focus, fake glamor and cliche.
I make 100 usd or so when a family member of a friend gets to senior year in highschool (silly tradition of senior portraits) and I end up doing more work than any expensive studio since I'll go to any location, do any number of poses and I'll make sure things turn out just the way I want in post production and toning.
I like that photo you linked, is it yours? Personally I find it a bit over done.. Im not a fan of amazingly complex lighting set ups and heavy saturation. Im subscribed to digital photo pro magazine and I see tons of immaculately lit and produced pictures in it, but they all seem so fake and out of place in their own frames. I enjoy reality in photos. Controlling light should be to replicate or dramatize something natural. Toning and any other post production in my mind is to dramatize the natural and must sustain a belief in the reality of the image.
I hope that wasn't insulting. I don't pretend to know much. I know my opinion and that is all.
yah .. it's mine. and that's my kind of a shot. don't get me wrong .. i like / shoot normal pictures too .. but that's my thing .. i started out with 3d modeling and i`ll always prefer infinite depth of field, full control in lighting and saturation/local contrast
no insults taken. it's me who should apologize for spamming
spamming? I wouldn't consider that spamming. I see the attraction to that style. I shoot outside a lot though and enjoy the adventure of finding the light, finding the place, the person, the story. I also like setting things up as well but I try to preserve something of adventure in it finding the photo in the person I'm with
